The capital city of Delta state,Asaba came alive on the 26 of april hosting a three day economic summit tagged south south economic summit 2012 for the south south region.Yours truly was in attendance and listened to great minds like Wole Soyinka,Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and others speak passionately about not just the Niger delta region but the nation,Nigeria.I personally have come to the conclusion that true federalism is the answer to the numerous Nigerian problems.Let us adopt that cliche again "small is beautiful"!.

The This Day office in Jabi/utako area of Abuja just came under attack not long ago by an unidentified suicide bomber.A similar attack was also carried out in kaduna near the This Day office.One can ask what sin did the media house commit against Boko haram or is it an attack against the Nigerian media and This Day just happened to be the first target?...oops(wiping sweat).

I am sincerely happy for this U.S. reality television couple Giuliana and Bill Rancic.They say they are expecting their first child to be born to a gestational surrogate late this summer. Giuliana Rancic, a breast cancer survivor, announced this today on the "Today" show that she and her husband will soon be parents because their surrogate is pregnant. She said she and Bill know the baby's gender but aren't revealing it right now. The birth to a gestational surrogate means the baby will be the Rancics' genetic child. she separately told E! News."We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," and her hubby Bill said "We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey," . The case of Blessing Effiong, a 20-year-old inmate awaiting trial at the female section of Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos, perhaps typifies the injustice suffered by the poor in the Nigerian society. A 10-year-old girl has given birth to a healthy baby daughter in Colombia, becoming one of the world's youngest mothers ever. The preteen mom is a member of the country's indigenous Wayuu tribe, which is allowed autonomy by the government to carry out certain cultural practices -- including, apparently, procreating at an astonishingly young age. After arriving at the hospital 39 weeks pregnant and in "enormous pain," the girl delivered her 5 lb. baby via C-section. Aljazeera reports that Yahoo is laying off 2,000 employees as new chief executive Scott Thompson sweeps out jobs that do not fit into his plans for turning around the beleaguered internet company. Baba FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure as chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ended abruptly yesterday. He tendered his letter of resignation from the position which he has occupied since he stepped down from office as President on May 29, 2007. He would have ended his five-year tenure in July. In a statement he personally signed and made exclusively available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja yesterday, Obasanjo said he had sent the letter to PDP chair Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. “I have formally sent in my letter of resignation as the Chairman of BoT of PDP to the National Chairman of the party as prescribed in the party’s constitution,” he said. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) yesterday called on the National Assembly to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan. According to the main opposition party, having admitted openly that he solicited a bribe from a foreign construction company, the President has violated the Constitution that he swore to uphold.
