Farida Waziri has been removed as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In her place, President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Lamorde as the Acting Chairman of the Commission.
A statement from the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati said the appointment takes immediate effect.
The acting EFCC Chairman, Lamorde is an officer of the Nigeria Police and was until this appointment the Director of Operations of the EFCC.
He was also Acting Chairman of the EFCC before Mrs. Waziri assumed duty at the Commission.
