Strictly by IV!

I have always believed that weddings should be one of the happiest days in a couple's life.Overtime,I have seen couples swing from happy mood to sad because there are a lot more people than they budgeted for present at their wedding. In my dear country Nigeria, believe me,weddings are jamboree occassions.Invited or not, known to the couple or not,you can attend a wedding if you want to.I sincerely think that knowing the number of people coming to your wedding will help you curb expenses and stay within budget.

Sadly, many people feel that weddings should be a happy moment for everyone and anyone present at the wedding as in come one, come all!.Well,if you have a blank cheque you can open your doors to the whole country! Some people actually think it is rude to be strict with the number of people you invite to your wedding, anyway you could choose to add +2 people besides the name of whomever you give an invitation.I personally think that the best way to have a fantastic wedding is to accomodate guests strictly by invitation.I would not want to have guests standing in the reception hall or not having food to eat at all.Nobody will blame the uninvited guests for attending the wedding or excuse people's eat-today- and- forget- tomorrow's attitude in Nigeria,no way!.Everyone will rather talk about how clumsy the wedding was and blame the couple for fixing a wedding when it was obvious they couldn't cater for their guests...uninvited inclusive!

I remember someone who planned a carnival style wedding.Oh!,it was beautiful,i can still see the reception hall...an outlandish hall like a castle.I was bewildered by the sight, the colour was gold and purple from the golden chandeliers hanging down the ceiling to the purple carpet so soft,I was tempted to pull off my sandals. The buffet setting;the tables were clothed in purple lace adorned by gold coloured tumblers and cutleries and oh my God!how can I forget that cake. The most beautiful cake I ever set my eyes on.It had a fish pond with two live gold fishes in it!It was a party for all,not less than 1000 thousand people attended that wedding.I must tell you however, that just two weeks after that wedding the groom lost his mega paying job and his new bride has no job either!.Hey,na witch!.Well, life has it's own way of serving us with dishes we don't want.We must always be smart in life to avoid issues like this.Everyone had their fill on that wedding day but how many of those people supported the couple in their time of need after the wedding?

Whatever the case, the decision is entirely the couple's to make and not the guests of the wedding like we erroneously believe in Naija. However, both families must reach an agreement on this issue so that balance can be achieved. So what do you prefer;strictly by IV or come one, come all?

The Empowered woman

I think being a woman,I mean a real woman is one of the hardest things ever!. You won't agree with this only if you are not a woman, but if you are a woman, then congratulations to you.You are a mysterious being but then again this congratulation goes to the 'real woman'. The real woman is that person that makes everything difficult seem easy. She is a hard worker, faithful friend and partner,a good manager,a home maker,a lover,a confidant,a mother,a sister,a daughter,a visioneer...Someone,may say,"Yea, ok...I'm not a mother or I'm single and so does that make me not a real woman?Of course not!. Age,class, status, beauty or achievements do not define a real woman, but character does. I can't but wonder at the stories we hear these days about women.I marvel at the rate of evil perpetuated by women in our society.Prostitution is old wives tale but when women are involved in armed robbery, kidnappings, terrorism, gang rape, adultery, fraud to mention a few, then by a...

The Career Woman

I stumbled upon this beautiful article on IFP while researching on other stuff and thought to share it. It's a 4 minutes read. I totally agree with it. Gender equality seems to be the one issue that isn't going away. Many of us like to believe sexism is something that only plagued the workplaces of yesteryear, but unfortunately it still exists. Don't believe us? Well, in 2016 just 57% of the world's  working-age women  were in employment, compared to 70% of their male counterparts. And even the females who were in work were struggling to catch up with the men. Women with  full-time jobs  still earn only about 77% of their male counterparts' earnings. Of course, the issue is complex and many expect that because most countries have made it illegal to pay women less than men, that gender inequality has fixed itself. However, problems surrounding  unconscious bias , parental leave, and outdated stereotypes about gender roles persist in the workplace. But what are th...

How can we share love in a world void of love?

As each day passes,I see that so many people do not understand what sharing love is all about.Just last night,I saw a man,not a boy.I mean a full fledged man beating up a lady just by the roadside as if she were some common thief. On inquiry,I discovered she was his girlfriend.Did I hear you say,what?!!!.mhnnn...the feeling is mutual, but come to think of it,he may have had a reason which he felt was good enough to beat her up.Someone may say no reason is good enough...chapter closed. I remember sharing with you earlier that every person has a reason for every action he/she takes, wether good or bad.If he had beat her to death,he will still have a reason for his action and he would engage the services of a lawyer who will readily defend him in the court of law. That's the kind of world we live in...simply void of love. You know,on television this morning,I just kept hearing the news on rape.In case you are thinking the victim may have caused it for herself, well sorry to diasppoint ...
