Stalking...why?

Canadian country star Shania Twain testified Friday that she has compassion for a man accused of stalking her but remains concerned that he will continue to pursue her.

Giovanni Palumbo has been charged with three counts of failure to comply with a court order and criminal harassment. He had pleaded not guilty earlier this week but after listening to testimony Friday from Twain, Palumbo's lawyer told court that his client would plead guilty to both charges.
Lawyer Gary Barnes said that hearing Twain's heartfelt testimony stirred a revelation in Palumbo."He realized: 'My God, I have upset her,'" Barnes told reporters after court had adjourned for the day.

I am so curious as to why people stalk others.I have had this experience and still having it even.Thankfuly*can I say?*,it is not physically but on the phone.I had this number calling me consistently and at odd hours too.

I remember the first day I picked he/she didn't say anything .After some seconds of "helloing",I cut off the line and the same scenario replayed.I didn't think much of it at first but when it started happening like every other day,I became worried and the time was always between 12am and 4am in the morning, but surprisingly the person graduated to daytime calls. One day I got so annoyed,I decided to call the person but he/she wouldn't pick,so I started sending messages to threaten him, warning him/her to stop harrassing me.For some reason I believed it was a man,I mean why would a woman want to do that to a fellow woman?True to my instincts, when I got brother to call the number it was surely a guy with this heavy local accent,I almost had a heart attack.I didn't recognize the voice!.My brother did everything to get him to reveal his identity but the foolish guy never did.

Then he got another number and it was thesame trend. He would call but would never pick up and so I had to block the two numbers.*I had to look for a way to stop the madness*.So i rested for awhile, but when I changed my phone and didn't have a clue how to block numbers the *buguulu*resurfaced..It sometimes leaves me with a scary feeling  though I am very much annoyed.I can't think of why anybody would want to do that.So the two numbers call me even now.More worrisome is that on my second phone, an anonymous number would call me and would end thecall whenever I pick but I remember once when the caller didn't end the call when I picked. He let the minutes roll by for about 48 minutes until,I ended the call by myself.
Why would anybody do this? For fun or just to satisfy some weird desire?I just can't understand it.I have been thinking seriously of reporting to the Police.Everyone says it could be someone I know very well who hasn't got the guts to approach me and I ask really but why?...

"I never made a conscious decision to grow the nails, but with all my children and the music commitments I guess it was easier to let the nails grow," she added, "Then one day I look down and they’re like 9 inches long!"
