In the spirit of celebrating the Autism Awareness day marked 2nd of April, our woman crush this week is Morenike Onaiwu, an American educator, author, autism and HIV advocate. She is a daughter of an African immigrants in America, where she was born, raised and lives. Her popular publication is 'All the Weight of Our Dreams', an anthology of art and writing entirely by autistic people of color published by the Autism Women's Network in June 2017.
Drawing on her experiences as a woman of color, 1st generation American, survivor, and an adult-diagnosed Autistic parent of children with disabilities, she is involved in various social justice endeavors. Morénike is a Humanities Scholar at Rice University’s Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality and a member of several executive board such as the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN), Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network (AWN, previously Autism Women’s Network), as well as other organizations; Currently serving in

One major reason she is our crush is, She has the heart of service in her words" I am here to open minds and to open hearts; to fill minds and to fill hearts; to change minds and to change hearts. That’s why I do what I do."
