Career Woman:Dealing with Stress at Workplace

However if stress is not managed it could lead to major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. it can affect also affect physical health, too. Repeated activation of the fight-or-flight response can disrupt bodily systems and increase susceptibility to disease.
Below are tips we can benefit from on how we can  manage stress and anxiety on the job, these include:
.Reappraising negative thoughts. Chronic stress and worry can lead people to develop an attitude of  interpreting situations through a negative lens with little or no evidence for instance taking the rebuke of a boss personal or getting devastated over promotions. To reappraise negative thoughts, treat them as hypotheses instead of facts and consider other possibilities. Regularly practicing this skill can help people reduce negative emotions which will enhance work ability.
.Relaxation strategies especially the progressive muscle relaxation helps counter the physiological effects of the fight-or-flight response and also reduce anxiety .To practice this skill, sit comfortably with your eyes closed, Working from your legs upward, systematically tense and relax each major muscle groups. Hold the tension for 10 seconds; release tension for 20 seconds. Each time you release muscle tension, think “relax” to yourself.

.Problem-solving skill:  Problem-solving skill include defining the problem, thinking and identifying potential solutions, prioritize the  solutions, develop an action plan, put the chosen solution into action.
.Mindfulness: Mindfulness is the ability to pay attention to the present moment with curiosity, openness, and acceptance. Stress can be exacerbated when we spend time ruminating about the past, worrying about the future, or engaging in self-criticism. This can be done through formal practice like guided meditation.

Longest Nails on the Planet!

This is Christine Walton from Las Vegas -- who has the world's longest fingernails measuring a freaky 19ft 9in (601.9cm).She has set a record in Guiness world book of records. That's 10ft 2in (309.8cm) on her left hand and 9ft 7in (292.1cm) on her right hand and the 45-year-old singer says she hasn’t cut her fingernails since 1990. Christine insists the nails don’t prevent her from living a normal life; she can still braid hair, cook and drive, however, she does confess to struggling when shopping for clothes: "I’ll see the cutest shirts, and they’ll have these skinny arms and I know that my nails would just rip straight through them, she said. "I never made a conscious decision to grow the nails, but with all my children and the music commitments I guess it was easier to let the nails grow," she added, "Then one day I look down and they’re like 9 inches long!" Her current length of the fingernails are the equivalent length of a killer whale; two...

The Empowered woman

I think being a woman,I mean a real woman is one of the hardest things ever!. You won't agree with this only if you are not a woman, but if you are a woman, then congratulations to you.You are a mysterious being but then again this congratulation goes to the 'real woman'. The real woman is that person that makes everything difficult seem easy. She is a hard worker, faithful friend and partner,a good manager,a home maker,a lover,a confidant,a mother,a sister,a daughter,a visioneer...Someone,may say,"Yea, ok...I'm not a mother or I'm single and so does that make me not a real woman?Of course not!. Age,class, status, beauty or achievements do not define a real woman, but character does. I can't but wonder at the stories we hear these days about women.I marvel at the rate of evil perpetuated by women in our society.Prostitution is old wives tale but when women are involved in armed robbery, kidnappings, terrorism, gang rape, adultery, fraud to mention a few, then by a...
