UN Women Declares International Women's Day( IWD, 2021).

International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, either in terms of national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political differences, now globally, it is strengthened by four global United Nations Women conferences.
The Women’s Day is globally  celebrated on March 8th annually; this  is strongly linked to the women’s movements during the Russian Revolution in 1917 and has since moved from  groundbreaking resolutions to awe-inspiring speeches to activists inspiring change offline and online, this timeline marks  memorable moments for women's rights at the United Nations since its founding in 1945.
This year, UN Women has  announced the theme for International Women's Day, 8 March 2021 (IWD 2021) as, “Women in leadership: This theme aims to address  the persistent pre-existing social and systemic barriers to women’s participation and leadership, which has further been accelerated with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also to address unacceptable issues faced by women across the world, such as increased domestic violence, unpaid care duties, unemployment and poverty,  there is also disproportionate and inadequate representation of women in national and global COVID-19 policy spaces.
This year theme is also to collaborate with the world's government,  to uphold women’s rights and fully leverage the potential of women’s leadership in pandemic preparedness and response,  moreso to  integrate women  in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes in all spheres and at all stages of pandemic response and recovery.
This year's Women' s day is also to bring to spotlight how Women leaders and women’s organizations have demonstrated their skills, knowledge and networks to effectively lead. Although today there is increase acceptance that women bring different experiences, perspectives and skills to the table, and make irreplaceable contributions to decisions, it should get better for a brighter future. We sincerely hope that this year's conference in honor of women will be a timeline for better Women integration and participation in all spheres.
Other informations related to the proposed United Nations Conference  on International Women's Day 2021 will be made available on UN Women’s website closer to the date.
