The 21st Century Woman...1

Before now a woman's role was solely defined by society, education and religious beliefs and often times their personal liberties are denied. This is more experienced in countries whose laws are bound by religious laws like Sudan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and so on. The primary role of a married woman is entangled around husband then children, after which she could seek a career position depending on the authority given to her.

The 21st century is an era that has witnessed the use of repealing laws that discriminate against women and girls, laws that created gaps between boys and girls in education, technology and public services. It is an era that gave women voices to fight against gender inequality. It is an era that witnessed the use of reformed laws and systems that before prevented women from utilising their potentials.

The 21st century is a marked era from Jan 2001- 2100.  It is an era where people master content by producing information, synthesizing information and evaluating information from diverse sources with an acknowledgement of different norms and culture.

It is a time of technological advancement, a time the world witnessed increased globalization, it is an era where workforce requires collaboration, synthetic thinking, brainstorming.  It is also characterised by research skills and practices, creativity, artistry, advancement in information and communication technology, media and internet literacy, data interpretation and analysis, Entrepreneurship development, multicultural and humanitarian literacy.
