History,Tribe and Religion-major stumbling blocks for Nigeria says Kuffor

Speaking at a lecture as part of events preparatory to Nigeria’s 52nd Independence anniversary at the Foreign Affairs Auditorium, Abuja, on Tuesday,former Ghanaian President, John Kuffour said ,“Nigeria has every asset it should need to evolve into a strong, stable and prosperous state with powerful strategic influence spanning the entire continent of Africa and beyond".“History, tribe and religion seem to have conspired to put major stumbling blocks in the path of this destiny
“The hydrocarbon wealth, the populous market, fertile lands, resourceful, confident and venturesome individuals in finance, business, industry and telecommunications and the articulate and intelligent citizenry are acknowledged globally as some of the assets of the country,”
He urged Nigerian leaders to make sacrifices in order to overcome the obstacles drawing the country backward and provide the leadership for Africa’s advancement.
