Nigerian polity heats up as the $3million drama unfolds

 Part 1:Otedola,Zenon Oil Chairman accuses Farouk Lawan,the celebrated chairman of the petroleum subsidy committee of asking and collecting $620,000 bribe from him to delist Zenon oil from the guilt list of fraudulent oil marketers.A video of transaction between the two was released by the SSS to the EFCC.

Part 2:Farouk Lawan categorically denies Otedola's claims,insists his image in video released by Otedola was by all means doctored.Accusations trows the house of representatives into a frenzy of confusion.Members leave Lawan to his fate;a case of chop alone,die alone!.

Part 3:Farouk Lawan in less than 24 hours sings a new tune:Yes,I collected the money but it was to expose Otedola who put me under pressure to accept the bribe,I wrote a letter dated 24 April 2012 to the IG of Police and the Chairman,committee of drugs,Narcotics and financial crimes,Jagaba,telling them the amount of money that exchanged hands and maintaining that I wanted to tender the money as evidence.Members of the house contemplate on sending Lawan on suspension pending conclusion of investigation by the Police.

Part 4:Otedola voluntarily visits the Police headquarters,spends about an hour writing a statement on what transpired between him and the honourable member.He released a video and audio evidence to the police who treated him with utmost courtesy.The Police have given Lawan till Thursday to honour the invitation extended to him since June 7 to appear before the Police and make a statement on the brewing matter.Police maintains that Lawan must appear or be declared wanted by the Police or push the Police to obtain a bench warrant for his arrest.
