My Kitchen Today: Banga Soup(Ofe Akwu)

Banga Soup is a soup made from the extract of palm nuts, it is a soup accredited to the Urhobo people of Delta State, Nigeria fondly consumed with Starch. This soup is called Ofe Akwu in Igbo and Abang Atama in Efik. This soup varies tribe from tribe, some tribe like it without vegetables while some like it with a mix of vegetables. Some see the Banga Soup as another version of pepper soup hence make it light while others see it as a different soup entirely hence making it thick; one thing I like about this soup is the inclusion of assorted meats and fish and the smell of the different spices, how I love to drink this soup, I enjoy scooping it with my table spoon and it is so tasty. To make this soup, I prefer the fresh palm nuts to the canned palm nuts extract, so let's go! Notes . You do not need any cooking oil for making this soup, the palm nuts contains enough oil . It takes time to get this soup thick so be patient . It requires more pepper if you use vegetables . Ingredients...

The Career Woman : Becoming a Caterer/Chef

With so many career avenues available, it can be hard to know which path to take. Catering is one such avenue. Even with fluctuation in the world economy, the hospitality industry has shown great resilience in its business and has certainly boomed against all odds. Like a lot of other hospitality roles, catering hours can be long and tiring, however the rewards are worth every moment  hospitality, there are a lot of choices when deciding on what kind of career you wish to pursue. One of the greatest things about hospitality is the great potential, even without higher education (although it does help).  A  chef  is a trained professional cook and tradesman who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, often focusing on a particular cuisine. My Kitchen Today: Nigerian Goat meat pepper soup

The pepper soup we eat in Nigeria is generally light and spicy and could be made with goat meat, chicken, beef, snail, fish or any other meat really, as well as herbs and spices.  The Nigerian Pepper soup is Western version of chicken soup and it is popular for its soothing, restorative, spicy but very delicious potency. While it has dozens of variations, no recipe is complete without its classic seasoning mix made up of ingredients like ehu and chilli pepper. Others which are optional but I want to strongly recommend are uziza and uda seeds. You could see a lot people visiting the restaurants to eat the pepper soup as if it is impossible to make them at home. It is actually quite easy to prepare. This is not to send the restaurant madams packing but it is typically to get you to tantalise your family with your own cooking. There is a feeling that comes with seeing your loved ones enjoy food made by you. Let's go with  the goat meet recipe this time and we will add some p...

Each of these is powerful in its own right; together, they form a motivational buffet, encouraging you to seize life and sprint towards success.
